From every part of the world: stories, peoples, events through the hat
In collaboration with Martina Barison
From every part of the world (Da ogni capo del mondo), is the name of a truly unique private collection that, for over thirty years, has gathered headdresses, masks, crests, period and tribal garments, along with accessories and documents from across the globe. Each piece tells a story, revealing the identity of the people, men and women who wore it, and opens a window onto the world’s rich cultural diversity.
The name is a play on the Italian word capo, which means both “head” and “place,” evoking both the objects in the collection and the destinations they represent. What began on a single wall, vibrant with colors and shapes, has evolved into a dynamic and ever-growing cultural archive.
Through this collection, the curator aims to share and promote a new cultural narrative by making it accessible through exhibitions, educational programs, and themed events suitable for all audiences and educational levels.
What makes this collection so powerful is its universal appeal: it fascinates, surprises, and sparks curiosity. The headdress becomes a symbol and gateway, inviting viewers on a journey that is at once geographical, cultural, anthropological, and spiritual.
Wherever your journey begins, bon voyage!
