Collateral exhibition 16th Edition
In partnership with: Museo Villa Carlotta
Another awaited event, involved in Mercanteinfiera Spring edition 2015, is “Battaglie d’inchiostro. La guerra: tra reclame e propaganda attraverso il filtro della carta stampata”. A project created by Villa Carlotta, Museum and botanical garden on Como Lake, chosen specifically on the occasion of the centenary from the beginning of the first World War.
About a hundred pictures displayed, from the Historic Advertising Archive in Como by Paola Mazza, which gather authentic memorabilia, as the prestigious first editions and the original illustrations by the following important names: Beltrame, Codognato, Dudovich. The strong effect of the war arrives to us following the central idea of an emphasized divulgation, in the case of the propaganda, or the elegant one through the advertisement, or realistic when it is spread by the first photo feature. The visitors will be accompanied by others precious proofs that, with their spontaneity, arouse strong feelings: the soldier’s notebook, the letters sent from the frontline, the telegram announcing a death, the photos about moments of the real life.
The exhibition “Battaglie d’inchiostro” is curated by Serena Bertolucci, director of Villa Carlotta, and Paola Mazza, promoter of the Historic Archive
