The “Happy Days” of Mercanteinfiera: Spring Edition Closes with 56,000 Visitors

More than 6,000 international buyers from all over the world brought the Spring edition of Mercanteinfiera to life. From “Happy Days” mania to the inkwells of the Mariani collection, the musical memories of Sanremo 76, and Olympic memorabilia. The side exhibitions guided the public on a journey through pop culture, sports, and 20th-century design. The event hosted a rich program of talks featuring Paralympic athlete Giulia Ghiretti, the director of the National Museum of Cinema Carlo Chatrian, the Mayor of Parma Michele Guerra, and director Fausto Brizzi. A dialogue bridging the worlds of sport, culture, and entertainment.

 

(Parma, 16 March 2026) – From Happy Days memorabilia to antique inkwells, and from the Sanremo Music Festival to the Olympics. The Spring edition of Mercanteinfiera, held at Fiere di Parma, concluded with 56,000 visitors and more than 6,000 international buyers from across the globe, including new participants from Thailand.

The international exhibition of antiques, mid-century design, historical design, and vintage collectibles was swept up in a true “Happy Days mania“. The side exhibition “Inside Happy Days,” curated by Giuseppe Ganelli and Emilio Targia, captivated audiences of all ages by showcasing the world’s largest collection of memorabilia dedicated to the iconic TV series.

The extensive program of side exhibitions featured “Accessories of Triumph: Awards, Ornaments, and Sport,” curated by Mara Cappelletti; “At the Tip of the Ink: The Inkwell in the Mariani Family Collection,” in collaboration with Mario and Marco Mariani; and “Sanremo 76: The Soundtrack of a Nation,” created using materials from the Intesa Sanpaolo Historical Archives and the SIAE Historical Archives, curated by Ilaria Dazzi and Simona Palo.

The event was accompanied by a wide-ranging program of talks featuring Paralympic athlete Giulia Ghiretti, interviewed by RAI journalist Luca Ponzi; the Director of the National Museum of Cinema in Turin, Carlo Chatrian ; the Mayor of Parma, Michele Guerra ; and film director Fausto Brizzi, who joined via live link from Rome.

Mercanteinfiera will return to Fiere di Parma this autumn, from October 3rd to 11th.
