Sanremo 76: the soundtrack of a Nation
The collateral exhibition dedicated to Italy’s most prestigious song contest is curated with the collaboration of the Archivio Storico Intesa Sanpaolo and the Archivio Storico SIAE. It presents the Sanremo Festival as a quintessential collective narrative of the Italian Republic.
Through twenty iconic black-and-white photographs spanning seventy-six editions, the exhibition transforms music into visual memory, the stage into a mirror of society, and song into the soundtrack of a nation. This journey invites visitors to rediscover Sanremo not merely as a musical event, but as a cultural phenomenon capable of bridging generations and borders, uniting territories and collective imaginations.
Featuring original sheet music from milestones of Italian music—such as “Grazie dei fior” and “Uomini soli”—the exhibition celebrates not only the performers but the intricate machinery behind an event that has become a defining ritual for an entire country.
Because… Sanremo is Sanremo!
